Anheuser-Busch’s Rice Stewardship Partnership

Serving as stewards of our natural resources gives us PURPOSE BEYOND BREWING.

Anheuser-Busch’s history with American rice farms goes back to the beginning. Ever since Adolphus Busch first added rice to Budweiser to set it apart from other lagers, rice has been one of the main ingredients in many of our great-tasting beers. Today, we are the largest end user of American rice – something we don’t take lightly. Through our Rice Stewardship Partnership with USA Rice, Anheuser-Busch invests with purpose to protect working rice-lands, including conservation planning, irrigation efficiencies, nutrient management, and education of decision-makers on water, agriculture, and wildlife habitats.

Anheuser-Busch collaborates closely with our 325 rice growers, as well as environmental groups, and government agencies alike to strengthen the U.S. rice-growing industry. Together, we will help improve water efficiency, air quality, rice-land preservation, wildlife protection, and energy conservation, as well as support rice growers’ bottom line by testing new irrigation strategies. Our unwavering commitment to rice growers – and all of our essential partners – gives us purpose beyond brewing.
