Responsible Drinking

Anheuser-Busch’s Safe Ride Programs

Helping to keep you and our communities safe gives us PURPOSE BEYOND BREWING.

We at Anheuser-Busch care about our consumers, our communities, and the safety of our roads. With the goal of reducing alcohol-impaired driving, we lead programs that encourage consumers to have a plan to get home safely as well as raise social consciousness around responsible drinking behaviors.

Anheuser-Busch and our wholesalers have trained more than 623,000 alcohol servers on responsible serving techniques since 1989 to help prevent drunk-driving and underage drinking. Through our partnership with Lyft, the largest of its kind by an alcohol company in America, we provide consumers safe rides home, on us.

By the numbers:

  • Anheuser-Busch and our wholesaler partners have provided more than 3.7 million safe rides to and from bars and restaurants since 1989.
  • In 2017, our wholesaler partners worked with NASCAR and 100 professional sports teams from the MLB, NBA, NFL, and MLS to implement “Good Sport” programs, resulting in more than 725,000 consumers pledging to be responsible fans.
  • Anheuser-Busch has partnered with the Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF) since 1990, investing more than $2.7 million in TIRF’s ground-breaking research on alcohol-impaired driving and identification of practical ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the criminal justice system.

‍Our care for our consumers and our communities gives us purpose beyond brewing.
