Leading innovative regional partnerships toward environmental sustainability gives us PURPOSE BEYOND BREWING.

In support of central New York’s comprehensive strategy to generate economic growth and community development, Anheuser-Busch recently unveiled a solar project in Van Buren, N.Y., that will help us brew our great beers while also contributing to both our ambitious renewable electricity goals as well as the goals of the region.

Learn how Anheuser-Busch’s sustainability goals are challenging us to do more to reduce our environmental impact, preserve our natural resources, and be a strong partner to our communities:

In partnership with AES Distributed Energy, Inc. (AES DE) and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), the 2.76-megawatt solar project was developed to support Anheuser-Busch’s goal of sourcing 100% of our purchased electricity from renewable sources by 2025.

Located six miles from Anheuser-Busch’s Baldwinsville brewery, the solar array will produce over 3 million kilowatt-hours annually, enough to brew more than 3 million cases of beverages a year at the local brewery.

NYSERDA, through the NY-Sun program, provided over $1.1 million in support for the array which is comprised of more than 8,300 solar panels – making it Anheuser-Busch’s largest off-site installation to date.

Through this project, Anheuser-Busch is proud to support the region's comprehensive strategy to generate robust economic growth and community development including Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s nation-leading Green New Deal, which calls for 70% of New York’s electricity to come from renewable sources by 2030.
